Course Objectives

By completing this e-learning course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the difference between misbehaviour and behaviour.
  • List the different stages of cognitive (brain) development in a growing child and what you can expect at each development stage to help ensure your behavioural expectations are realistic.
  • Name & identify children’s four Goals of Misbehaviour and what the child believes about him/herself when in each goal.
  • Name & identify each of the additional three Teen Goals of Misbehaviour and what the teen believes about him/herself when in each goal.
  • Name the four Positive Goals of Behaviour.
  • Describe how to change a child’s misbehaviour by not letting them reach their mistaken goal and guide them toward finding more positive ways to belong.
