Volunteers are an invaluable part of the Family Education Centre team, helping us to deliver our mission and support families in Peel Region.
Here are some of the roles we typically engage volunteers in:

Important Notes for Volunteers:
- All volunteer positions require a police check dated within the last 6 months and a signed pledge of confidentiality.
- Family Education Centre is proud to have adopted the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement, recognizing the vital role volunteers play in our organization.

Who Should Apply?
To be eligible, you must be a parent and meet the following essential criteria:
- Friendly and outgoing with a positive attitude.
- Enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to new situations.
- Basic computer skills (internet navigation and email).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on effective facilitation.
- Facilitation skills to deliver learning programs through various methods (online, telephone, classroom).
- Understanding of the Adlerian Philosophy.
- Strong listening, communication, understanding, and responding skills.
- Fluent in English (additional languages are an asset).
- Ability to commit to flexible hours, including days and evenings.
- Resident of Ontario and legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Ability to speak knowledgeably and confidently about parenting topics.
Parent Educator Process
Complete the application process (see form below).
If accepted, complete the Parent Educator Training Course ($350 cost, payment plans available).
Upon successful completion, maintain annual certification requirements.
Actively support the FEC Parent Educator role.
