Whether you're interested in volunteering your time, sharing your parenting expertise as an educator, or exploring potential job opportunities, we welcome your interest!
Volunteers are an invaluable part of the Family Education Centre team, helping us to deliver our mission and support families in Peel Region.

Here are some of the roles we typically engage volunteers in:

1. Bingo Ambassador

Become a vital part of the fun at Delta Bingo in Brampton! As a Bingo Ambassador, you’ll interact with players, creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. Your tasks may include greeting patrons, calling back bingos, emptying ticket machines, and counting participants.
  • Time Commitment

    1.5 to 3 hours per week, every Monday from 12:45 pm to 3:15 pm. Flexible scheduling available regarding the number of events per year.

  • Ideal For

    Individuals who enjoy socializing and being part of a lively environment.

  • Location

    Delta Bingo, Brampton

2. General Board Member

Contribute your leadership skills and passion for our mission by joining our dynamic Board of Directors. Board members oversee the organization’s values, vision, and strategic direction.
  • Time Commitment

    A minimum of 2 hours per month, with additional time depending on committee involvement (approximately 1 hour per month per committee). Meetings are held the last Monday of each month for 2 hours.

  • Ideal For

    Dedicated individuals with a strategic mindset and a commitment to governance.

  • Term

    Flexible 2 or 3-year terms, with a maximum of two consecutive terms.

3. FEC Ambassador

Become a visible representative of Family Education Centre in the community! As an FEC Ambassador, you’ll attend community events, share information about our programs and services, answer questions, and register parents.
  • Time Commitment

    3 to 10 hours per month, with shifts varying based on event schedules. Training on FEC materials and programs will be provided.

  • Ideal For

    Outgoing individuals who enjoy connecting with people and promoting community engagement.

Important Notes for Volunteers:

  • All volunteer positions require a police check dated within the last 6 months and a signed pledge of confidentiality.
  • Family Education Centre is proud to have adopted the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement, recognizing the vital role volunteers play in our organization.

Who Should Apply?

To be eligible, you must be a parent and meet the following essential criteria:

Parent Educator Process

Our Program Coordinator will contact you regarding your interest. You will be placed on an eligible contact list, and the Coordinator will advise you of the training schedule and requirements. Upon completing the training, you will be eligible to start facilitating and become part of the FEC team. An assessment and discussion will be conducted for further opportunities within FEC.
Step 1

Complete the application process (see form below).

Step 2

If accepted, complete the Parent Educator Training Course ($350 cost, payment plans available).

Step 3

Upon successful completion, maintain annual certification requirements.

Step 4

Actively support the FEC Parent Educator role.

Time commitment

Parent Educators typically commit to several shifts throughout the week (Monday to Saturday, days and evenings) for up to one year. Flexibility in weekly shift availability is an asset.
