Take your child’s unique temperament into account when planning and encouraging them to participate in activities. For example, if your child is ‘slow to adapt’, you may want to slowly transition them into new activities and play situations. If they are ‘quick to adapt’, you can probably plan a lot of activities without worrying about your child being uncomfortable or unwilling to participate and try new things.

Discover your child’s unique temperament traits (there are nine) and learn some tools to guide them by taking our eLearning course, Is This Child Mine? Understanding Your Child’s Unique Temperament.
