Help them calm the first day jitters by finding out some information about the school. You could ask other parents in your neighbourhood questions like: Which doors do the different grades use to line up? What are the recess and lunch policies? What supports does this school offer? You could even try to make an appointment before the school year begins to tour the school and help your child locate their classroom, the washrooms, the gym etc.
