Course Description
The teen years are a time for change and challenge for both parents and the teens themselves. For parents and caregivers, understanding teen behaviour and their developmental stage (cognitively, physically and emotionally) is a first step in the process. Using positive communication and encouragement/empowering strategies with our teens can help us transform potentially terrifying (for us) teen years into terrific ones.
This course, Terrifying to Terrific: Tempering Your Teen will help you identify why teens misbehave and what you can do about it. You will learn strategies to help you work through your teen’s behaviour. You will also be introduced to some of the common ‘parent traps’ we get snarled in and learn strategies to maneuver these, as well as positive ways to empower and encourage your teen to help decompress the power struggles.
