Right now, so many responsible parents, like you, are experiencing anxiety as a result of living through a global pandemic and an
uncertain future. It’s difficult to remain hopeful when you’re trying to protect your family from a fatal disease, or home schooling your children when you don’t know the first thing about teaching or worrying about paying your bills when your job and financial stability are being threatened. These are all legitimate reasons to feel anxious and afraid for the welfare of your family right now.

Anxiety is chronic fear of an uncertain future! I call it, “the what if”…syndrome!” When life hits you with a global pandemic and your future is uncertain, parenting becomes extremely challenging – especially for parents who already struggle with anxiety. If that’s you, I know you’re feeling like you have no control over your reality right now so your anxiety might be off the charts! And because the lock down and quarantine has lasted for so long, I’m guessing this has thrown you into the need to do something, better known as the “fight” response. You believe that the only way to control your anxiety is by finding a way to control your reality. This makes you feel
safe and more prepared to deal with the fear of your unknown future.

You’re probably a highly sensitive, cautious, responsible parent whose desire to protect their family is your biggest obsession right now. Although your intention is admirable, you need to be careful that your behaviour is not scaring your children even more than they already are.

Remember, children understand life quite literally and don’t have the same understanding of life that parents do. So be conscious of sharing any negative thoughts, worries, doubts and fears through your actions or words with your children. As it can have an adverse affect on them.

Therefore, it’s very important for you to manage your fear and anxiety as best you can during
this pandemic. The good news is, I’ve got some helpful ways for you to do that…..

 Focus your time and energy on what you can control – which is the present moment
– not the future which is always unknown and always out of our control!

 Surround yourself with only positive, trusting, hopeful people versus listening to
negative, fearful people. Also, avoid negative social media and fear-based news stories

 Listen to positive outcome stories. This will help you build trust in the Universe and
encourage faith and hope that everything will work out for the best!

Just think of how much more time and energy – and fun – you’ll have once you let go and trust
that the Universe has got your back! SO RELAX & JUST BREATHE…..!!!
